All motor-cultivators are equipped with gasoline engines, manual starting system and air cooling system. For the convenience of work, it is possible to adjust the steering wheel in height.
Cultivator MTD T / 240
The mechanism is intended exclusively for digging and loosening the land of small plots of household farms (up to 15 acres). Due to the collapsible design, it can be easily transported.
The MTD T / 240 model is equipped with a portable engine, therefore it can be used in other mechanisms of this company, for example, in lawn mowers or garden waste grinders.
Equipped with powerful forged cutters. Thanks to this, it can be used for working on heavy soils. The set includes 4 cutters with a diameter of 30.5 cm.
In addition, the mechanism is equipped on the sides with flat cutters, which cut the roots of weeds in the process of soil cultivation.
Cultivator MTD T / 330 M
It is used for pre-sowing treatment of soils of various severity in personal plots.
The basic scope of delivery includes 6 cutters as well as crop protection discs and transport wheels.
It is possible to expand the functionality by using additional suspended equipment.
Cultivator MTD T / 250 SUNGARDEN
Designed for the cultivation of all types of soil. Its basic equipment, which consists of cutters, protective discs and a transport wheel, allows weeding to be carried out.
The device is equipped with a 5.5 hp Briggs & Stratton engine, but modifications are available with Briggs & Stratton 6.5 hp engines and an SG OHV 6 hp engine.
Attachments
All motor-cultivators are equipped with cutters that allow loosening and leveling the top layer of the earth. The working depth depends on the size of the cutters.
Attached equipment allows you to expand the capabilities of the mechanism. It is purchased separately and is usually not supplied in the kit. To fix it to a motor-cultivator, a universal hitch or a trailed hitch is used.
In addition to cutters, you can install the following attachments:
- plow;
- mower;
- hiller;
- potato digger;
- potato planter;
- pump;
- lugs;
- trailer.
The potato planter is convenient for planting potatoes, the potato digger will allow you to dig up potatoes with minimal physical costs. A pump is needed when it is necessary to irrigate a large area. Cultivators are equipped with soil lugs if the soil is heavy, wet, and ordinary wheels cannot move normally on it. In addition, the lugs allow you to make the device heavier, which will allow you to work on heavy soils with less labor costs.

In order for the equipment to function normally for a long time, it is necessary to follow the rules for working with the device.
Safety regulations
According to the instructions, the minimum age of the operator must be at least 16 years old (unless otherwise specified by the authorities for a particular region).
There should be no animals or strangers in the area to be treated.
During work, the operator must wear protection: glasses and gloves. Also, clothing should fit snugly to the body, shoes have a dense and durable sole.
It is forbidden to start the walk-behind tractor engine indoors.
Before starting work, all provided protective elements must be fully installed on the cultivator. The equipment itself should be inspected for wear of parts or any malfunctions.
When working with the mechanism, care must be taken that parts of the body do not touch hot and rotating elements. Be sure to remove the spark plug cap from the spark plug after completing work or to temporarily move away from the equipment.
Maintenance of the cultivator
Run-in actions
For the device to function properly, it must be run-in. The procedure for running in the product is as follows:
- Customize the various elements of the cultivator.
- Pour oil and gasoline into the engine. If the start is not the first, then you need to check the oil and fuel level and top up if necessary.
- Start the engine. At idle, it should run smoothly, without additional noise. There should also be no vibrations.
- Further, within 30-40 minutes, you need to increase the speed. If the engine continues to run normally, field operation can be performed.
- When running in the field, the cultivator should only operate at 50% of its capacity. You can use the device at 100% no earlier than after 20 hours of running in.
- After running in, check the fuel and oil levels, and it is imperative to check the condition of moving parts that are most susceptible to wear.
Major faults and repairs
If the engine does not start, the following options are possible:
- No or use of old and dirty fuel. If you run out of gasoline, you need to pour it into the tank. If low-quality fuel is filled, then it must be drained and filled with gasoline of the brand specified in the instructions for the engine.
- The cap for manual filling of gasoline or the choke is not installed in the desired position.
- The spark plug is not wearing the high-voltage wire cap.
- The spark plug is dirty.
Uneven engine operation may be due to:
- the cap of the high-voltage wire not completely installed on the candle;
- dirty fuel tank vent, air filter or carburetor.
Jammed cutters:
- Blocking them with stones or solid pieces of earth stuck in them.
- Loose pins or screws. The same malfunction leads to increased vibration of the equipment during operation. Fasteners must be tightened or replaced with a spare one.
- Incorrect adjustment of the clutch cable.
